Division/Class Clarification
Lead Line 1. Riders age 7 & under as of January 1st of current year. Riders may not cross enter into any other classes except for Halter and specialty classes, as applicable. Handler must be 16 years of age or older. Eligible show classes: 1, 2, 20. Walk 2. Riders any age. Handler must be age 16 or over. Riders may not cross enter into any other classes except for Halter and specialty classes, as applicable. Eligible show classes: 1, 2, 21. 3. Youth 13 & Under Walk Trot Riders age 13 and under only as of January 1st of current year. No cross entry into Youth is allowed. Eligible show classes: 1, 2, 4, 8, 11, 15, 17, 22, 24, 28, 29, 33, 34, 36, 40. 4. Youth - Riders age 18 & under as of January 1st of current year. No cross entry into Youth 13 & Under Walk Trot. Eligible show classes: 1, 2, 5, 9, 11, 13, 15, 18, 22, 25, 28, 29, 31, 33, 34, 37, 41. 5. Adult – Riders age 19 & over as of January 1st of current year. No cross entry into Novice is allowed. Eligible show classes: 1, 2, 6, 10, 11, 14, 15, 19, 22, 26, 27, 28, 29, 32, 33, 34, 38, 42. 6. Novice – Rider of any age who’s showing experience is limited to less than 15 MRSC Shows in the past 10 years (or showing experience is limited to less than 3 calendar years in the past 10 years). Novice status for breed registry does not constitute eligibility into Novice division at MRSC shows. Rider is no longer eligible to ride in the Novice Division if the rider has won the Year End Novice High Point. No cross entry into Youth or Adult classes allowed. Eligible show classes: 1, 2, 3, 7, 11, 12, 15, 16, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29, 30, 33, 34, 35, 39. 7. Open – Any age rider. Open riders may enter all other eligible classes. Eligible show classes: 1, 2, 11, 15, 22, 27, 28, 29, 33, 34. 8. Junior Horse – Horse must be 5 years or under. Proof of age may be required at registration. 9. Senior Horse – Horse must be 6 years or older. Proof of age may be required at registration. *Note: Open Classes, excluding halter, do not count towards year end or day of show division high point awards, please see website for Year End Clarification. |
General Rules 1. All rules will be posted at the registration desk and followed as per the MRSC bylaws and rule book and will be strictly enforced to ensure fairness to all. 2. Per Missouri State Law: Negative Coggins papers are required on all horses. Health papers dated within 30 days of the show are required on all out of state horses. 3. No Stallions Allowed. 4. Stock Type Horses Only 5. All exhibitors must sign a release of liability form. For those under the age of 18, the form must be signed by a parent /guardian. The parent/ guardian must be present on the show grounds during the entire show. 6. To be eligible for year-end awards, each rider must be a MRSC member and must obtain the required sponsorships per horse and rider combination prior to accumulating points. Points earned before membership/sponsorship is paid will not count towards year end awards. 7. First through sixth place ribbons given in all classes. 8. All halter classes will close 5 minutes prior to the beginning of the show. All other classes will close 2 minutes prior to the beginning of the class. 9. Tack changes between classes will be given 2 minutes. All tack changes must be declared at registration. 10. Proper attire is required for each class—English or Western. MRSC strongly recommends the use of protective gear. 11. Two-handing in Western classes with a shank bit is an automatic disqualification. However, two-handing is allowed with a snaffle bit or bosal on a junior horse, ages 2 to 5 years old. 12. MRSC has the right to disqualify any exhibitor or horse. If at any time a handler or rider cannot control their horse, they should remove themselves from the competition or MRSC will ask them to leave the arena and/or showing area. 13. Exhibitors and/or owner may be ejected for poor sportsmanship. 14. No loud or disruptive coaching is allowed to a contestant/rider competing in a class. Loud or excessive coaching can lead to disqualification of the contestant/rider. 15. An equine professional will not be responsible for accidents or injuries to any exhibitor or horse. 16. Judges decision is final. Protests must be made in writing the day of the show and must be accompanied by a $25 fee. The fee will only be refunded if the show committee approves the protest. 17. No smoking allowed at the National Equestrian Center. |
